He is the Assistant Director of Premanjali Counselling Services, Nalasopara, Mumbai. He is the Founder of the Center for Safeguarding and Human Formation (CSHF) at De Nobili College, Pune, India. He is the convener of the Safeguarding Team of the Jesuit Conference of South Asia (JCSA), representative of JCSA to the PCCP (Promotion of a Consistent Culture of Protection) the International Safeguarding Body of the Jesuits and is the Province Safeguarding Officer of the Bombay Province of the Society of Jesus. He is also the Convener of the Jesuit Counsellors and Psychologists Forum (JCPF) of the South Asian Assistancy of the JCSA. Professor Konrad is visiting faculty at Jnana Deepa Pontifical Athenium of Philosophy and Theology, Pune, India and Vidyajyoti College of Theology, Delhi among other colleges/universities.
He has a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from Loyola University Maryland, USA, and a Masters in Systematic Theology from Vidyajyoti College of Theology, Delhi. His Doctorate is in Counsellor Education and Supervision from Loyola University, Maryland, USA. He is a licensed homoeopathic physician (BHMS) in India. He heads various committees at the local, national, and international levels.
His work focuses on adult clients, especially seminarians, clergy, vowed religious and older adults. The intersection of psychology and spirituality/religiosity are among his research interests; the emphasis being on clinical applications of research findings. His approach to patients, clients and directees, is holistic and he uses integrated approaches in his treatment, therapy, and spiritual direction.
He has done extensive clinical work at sites that include among others the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland; Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland; the Counselling Center at Stella Maris, Timonium; Maryland; Loyola University, Maryland, and in his home country India. He has two published books ‘Spirituality in Practice: Thematic Frameworks for Counselling’ by Cognella Academic Publishers, USA and “Ethical Issues in Life and Ministry” by ISPCK Publishers, India.
