Professor Konrad J. Noronha, PhD (USA), MS (USA), MTh (Delhi), BHMS (Pune), is the Director of the Center for Safeguarding and Human Formation (CSHF) at De Nobili College, Pune, India. He offers a number of programs through the center. He is the co-convener of the Safeguarding Team of the Jesuit Conference of South Asia (JCSA) and the convener of the Jesuit Counsellors and Psychologists Forum (JCPF). Professor Konrad is on the faculty of Jnana Deepa Pontifical Athenium of Philosophy and Theology, Pune, India.

He teaches in the Pastoral Management Program (PMP) program, the spirituality program, and in the theology and philosophy programs. He has a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from Loyola University Maryland, USA and a Masters in Systematic Theology from Vidyajyoti College of Theology, Delhi. His Doctorate is in Counsellor Education and Supervision from Loyola University, Maryland, USA. He is a visiting scholar to the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, Italy. In India, he is a licensed homoeopathic physician (BHMS). He heads various committees at the local, national and international levels within his religious congregation.

He has worked at a number of places in America, including Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Centre, Baltimore, where he worked with persistent mental illness, and adolescents with mental health problems; the Fouse Centre, Maryland, where he worked with dual diagnosis and homeless clients; the counselling centre at Stella Maris, Maryland, where he worked with the bereaved of those who died in hospice and the counselling centre at Loyola University Maryland where he worked with a predominantly university population.

As a catholic priest, he belongs to the Society of Jesus (Jesuit). His work focuses on adult clients, especially seminarians, clergy, vowed religious and older adults. The intersection of psychology and spirituality/religiosity are among his research interests; the emphasis being on clinical applications of research findings. His approach to patients, clients and directees, is holistic and he uses integrated approaches in his treatment, therapy, and spiritual direction. He also conducts retreats and offers spiritual direction and counselling services at his center.

He has done extensive clinical work at sites that include among others the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland; Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland; the Counselling Center at Stella Maris, Timonium; Maryland; Loyola University, Maryland, and in his home country India. He has given talks, conducted workshops and retreats and has YouTube audibles, book chapters, articles and peer reviews to his credit. 

His published book is ‘Spirituality in Practice: Thematic Frameworks for Counselling’ by Cognella Academic Publishers, USA. His refereed articles have been published in Pastoral Psychology, Journal of Religion, Spirituality & Aging, Encyclopaedia of Psychology and Religion, Counselling and Values, Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine, Jeevadhara: A Journal for Socio-Religious Research, Vinayshadana - Dharmaram Journal of Psycho-Affective Formation, Asian Horizons: Dharmaram Journal of Theology, Vidyajyoti Journal of Theological Reflection, Word and Worship, Jnanadeepa: Pune Journal of Religious Studies and Indian Theological Studies.
